Tim Atkin, a British Master of wine and accomplished wine commentator with over 30 years’ experience, has extensive knowledge when it comes to South African wines. He tasted over 1.381 local wines for his 2020 report, now in its eighth year and his most comprehensive to date. The wines are rated according to the international 100-point system. 

This wine was awarded a rating of 92 points.

The Voor Paardeberg might not be the first place you'd go looking for a stylish Merlot in the Cape, but this is a delicious and very well-priced example of the variety. Smooth and granular, with herbal red berry flavours, fine cedarwood top notes and good palate length.
